AUSTINTOWN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINIC
AUSTINTOWN, OH
Located in a 1960s-era shopping center in Austintown, two 4,700 sq. ft. suites are proposed to be combined and converted into an outpatient behavioral health clinic. Positioned on either side of a prime corner tenant, one suite faces the front of the building while the other faces the side. To separate clinic traffic from retail activity along the front facade, the proposed entrance is located in the side-facing suite.
To create a more inviting presence along the predominantly blank concrete masonry wall, a new EIFS and composite screen is proposed above the entrance. An exterior ADA ramp and stairs will also be added to meet accessibility requirements.
Inside, the side-facing suite will house the waiting area, reception, and clinical offices, while the front-facing suite will contain consultation and group rooms. Support spaces are centrally located at the connection between the two suites, ensuring accessibility from both sides. The design aims to establish a cohesive and functional layout, optimizing circulation within the challenging geometry.
